When Werewolves Went Bad

I'm sure all of you have seen a move (or ten thousand movies) that portray werewolves as hideous, evil, creatures that live to kill. Well there was an actual reason that we are hated. The truth is...for one century...the entire world knew we existed. Yeah that's right, except their idea of us was WAY off. We were known about the time of the Salem Witch Trials, witch hunters believed that werewolves were servants of the witches. I think that that was the stupidest thing any human has ever thought, i mean honestly, do you think a werewolf would bow down before a witch? Ha, not likely. Well when this rumor got out all of the werewolf ancestors were pretty peeved, (I actually know some werewolves who were alive during this time) but there was one werewolf who was MORE than peeved. No one really knew his real name, but he went by Mars (like the roman god of war, or something) He was pretty much insane. He would hide in the shadows around a town and whenever he heard someone talking about us as slaves to witches he would go and (sorry for this guys) rip out their throats while they slept. He murdured HUNDREDS of humans.
Every wolf out there tried to stop him, because no matter the rumors we were kind of "friends" with humans. Many of the wolves who tried to stop him were found dead as well, this was the most tragic time for all wolves and humans. Finally a huge group of wolves banded together and (again sorry) "put a stop to him" You know what i mean. They killed him. But not before the bad name was put on werewolves, before people started killing any werewolves they met. Yeah that's how bad it got. The reason people don't really remember it is because they basicaly REFUSE to remember it, werewolves went into hiding and secret, all the people who were alive during that time (aside of a few werewolves) died off and the mind was "cleansed" of any thought that there werewolves actually existed. But we were put into horror stories and movies that portray us as evil creatures who are controlled by the moon and are digustingly ugly (admit it there are no movies that make werewolves look cool) when the truth is there was ONE bad werewolf and people FREAKED out. i don't blame them for being scared but to do that to ALL werewolves? Harsh.

The Story of Werewolves

You've probably hear hundreds of different werewolf legends right? Well I'm going to give you the actual story that all actual werewolves believe to be the beginning of us. Many hundreds of years ago there was a general in some army (no i don't know his name or what army, no one does) that was in a huge war with someone else. Well one night his entire army, except about a hundred soldiers, was killed by their enemy. So they retreated and ran into the woods. Half of the men died from hypothermia, starvation, and infection, they were said to follow a trail of wolf paw prints through the snow. All but 20 of the soldiers died on their trek through the woods, but the general seemed insane to find these wolves, he said "I've never seen a wild wolf, and i wish to see one before i die." The reason he wanted to so badly was because his father was a huge deal as a general in the army they called him "Great Wolf."
They finally reached a small cave where the wolves made their den, at the sound of their approach, the Alpha a huge black wolf came out to protect his family. The general smiled and knelt down in the snow before the black wolf. Then they were attacked by his enemies again (even though they already were defeated), the general got four arrows in his back, the wolf got three arrows in his chest. They both collapsed on the ground face to snout, and the general reached out and covered the wolf's paw with his hand and whispered "We are more alike than anyone could ever guess, wolf, i am proud to die by your side." As the blood of Man mingled with the Blood of Wolf on the ground, the man was reborn with half the soul of man, and half the soul of the great black wolf.
His story gets choppy after that, no one is quite sure what he did the first couple years of his wolf life, but we do know that in his fourth year as wolf he married a human woman, and told her of all his secrets, and she still loved him. The first werewolves were their children and we were are all descendents of them. I hope you enjoyed this story of my ancestors, if you want i'll continue writing about them.

The Coward who changed me

No, I don't know who changed me. As soon as he bit me, he took off, I tried to trace him later but it didn't work. Most werewolves take resposibliity for what they do, and help out the new changling when they are "reborn." but this jerk didn't. It took me a long time to find another like me. It took me forever to trust anyone again, but i still don't, i can't. He was a rather good looking wolf, too. Haha. I just wish that if i had someone's teeth in me, i would want to know who they are. But oh well. That's the past.

Becoming a Werewolf

Thanks for the question Paris.

There are hereditary werewolves out there, though they are few. Most of the time you have to be bitten by another werewolf, that's what happened to me. It's a really painful transition, but sadly i never met the werewolf that changed me. I wish he had been there when i woke up, that way i wouldn't of hated myself for so long.

The Changing Moon...Changing Me.

Brooklyn I love the questions you ask and i love that you're brave enough to ask them.

The question was: Do the phases of the moon effect the way i change?

The answer: Sometimes. The general waning and waxing of the moon doesn't do much to bother me, but when the moon gets full it compels werewolves to change. We basically HAVE to change during a full moon. Even if we could control it we wouldn't want to miss the full moon rituals that go on between living and dead werewolves during a full moon and a new moon. The new moon doesn't compel us as much...since there is no moon to follow. The older a werewolf gets the better they are at controlling how they phase. The younger the wolf the harder, that's why most young werewolves stay among other werewolves for a few weeks while they test their "Stregth" And of course "Humanity"

Werewolves

Hey guys! Over the next few days i will share parts of the legend of werewolves. Where we came from, how i was "reborn", my thoughts about the stereotypes on mythicals. Ect. But before i do, if you have any questions about me, my life, or werewolves in general ASK> or if you have anything you want to hear more about like the history of werewolves or my personal experiences as a werewolf. Just let me know and i will elaborate

My Town

I bet you wonder where I live, right? Most of you know that Tommy Williams, lives in Oakvale, Conneticut, but where would a werewolf live? I live in a really small town, and guess what? it's mostly "mythicals" that live here. Werewolves generally don't show their true form to anyone but other werewolves. And we keep our second form a secret from everyone that's not a werewolf. I know it's weird. But there are others where i live, vampires come every now and again and Zombies are actually welcomed. I mean sure there are those who are a little biased but if ANYTHING every happened to any of the "mythicals" there'd be a full on investigation. And it's happened before. We have a sanctuary for all mythicals, we have something like the haunted house for Zombies. We have the Moon House for werewolves who need a place to crash. And the Coffin House (we have a sense of humor) for vampires. It's a pretty cool place to live, if you need someplace to call "home" talk to me, it's a sanctuary.

Another old poem

She of the Blood

He who strays in the forest at late
Becomes like a worm on a hook for bait
When the moon is full and the sky is black
He will soon discover the courage he lacks

The prayers you utter will all be in vain
For no one escapes the Blood and the Pain
The Devil herself is manifest
In the very core of the werewolf's breast

And she comes at night, when you wander dumb
Under the trees like you're under her thumb
She senses your fear, she smells your heart
She'll rip you to shreds, she'll tear you apart

The wolf is her family, the human her feast,
She who is born from the blood of the Beast.

Do you see how we got our bad reputation? From ignorant people who have something against anything thats different. I'll be honest this is the exact reason that humans make me so mad, you take something beautiful and natural and turn it into something sick and terrible. The wolf is her family the human her feast???? WHAT? Yes the wolf is PART of our family, but we don't eat humans that's like cannibalism. EWWW. Born of Blood and Beast...beast no, werewolf yes, blood no. I don't even know where people get this stuff. AGH

Others I've met

Great questions Brooklyn I'm impressed.

Deffinately elders have helped me learn to control myself, and things to do when i get mad so i don't phase. To my surprise i learned that most werewolves just stay in the woods in their wolf form, i'm not sure why exactly. I've helped alot of the younger werewolves in understanding their new bodies because i am closer to their age then any of the others. Not many werewolves are changed anymore because we know how difficult it is to be one in the modern age.

What the Change has done

In response to your question Brooklyn:
Yes, becoming a werewolf changed me in a thousand different ways. Mainly though is my...well i guess you could call it my look on life. Before i changed i didn't have many ideas of the future, i was obssessed with guys, I didn't respect my parents the way i should've, i didn't realize how good i had it until it all could've vanished. When i was changed into a werewolf it turned my life around for the better and the worse. the worse because my entire life is a lie. There is no truth as to what i say to my parents or friends or anyone. Did people notice the change? Yes. They noticed how different i was acting, instead of kind of mocking the kids who didn't have many friends because there wasn't anyone like them...I hurt for them. Because whether other people knew how different i was or not, i knew, i knew that no matter what brand of clothes i wore or shoes i bought i would never be the same as anyone else. People also noticed how different I looked, and how i used to become overly defensive when we talked about what i do when i'm not at school.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Oh humanity where art thou?

Happy Belated Easter. I bet you all wonder what holidays werewolves celebrate...well that all depends on if said werewolf believes in their soul. If they do then it depends on what religion they are.
Humanity is a rough subject for most werewolves, new ones and old ones. When you're younger you freak out easier and can't control your phasing but when you get a little old (like me) it gets easier, but also when you're older you are more in touch with your wolf side. Therefore you can "lose yourself" to the wolf. It's hard. Very hard sometimes, to think of everything that is good in your human life and return to it. Sometimes it takes days to finally chill out. Which is hard when your parents have no clue what you are. When NO ONE has any idea what you are.

And remember guys. QUESTIONS! I am willing to answer them if you're brave enough to ask. So let's hear what's going on in your head.

Will my humanity fail me?

If you're human it would be hard for you to understand what it's like to fight FOR humanity. So...I will attempt to explain. The definition of humanity is "Being human or humane" what? Yeah i don't exactly get it either. So this is MY definition: humanity is the characteristic that keeps you human or what webster's dictionary considers human. In most people that characteristic is the ONLY one that defines your "Species" But in werewolves...it's not. We fight all the time for our humanity, as we get older it becomes easier to control it. And by it i mean our animalistic trait. Our wolf traits. Most of us, our mind and soul want to be human or want to "have humanity" But, part of our heart and and our body and even part of our soul wants to do what it's done for hundreds of years...it's wants to be an animal. See i don't think you get how important it is for us to control our animal side...if we get too angry or excited or upset or ANYTHING we lose it. And by it this time i mean we lose our humanity. It's hard to get it back. I know TONS of you read the Twilight saga, remember Jacob's problem with "Losing himself"? Well that's actually true to real werewolves. It's the scariest thing in the world to lose your humanity. But we always fight to get it back and it sometimes takes us a while. But if you know a werewolf...be patient with them because they're telling the truth when they say "You have no idea how hard I'm trying not to kill you right now."
